Hi there! It’s great to meet you! I’m Camie, Mama to Solly and Bea and author of Sol the Man.
Solly is a pediatric stroke survivor and cerebral palsy warrior, and Bea is his sidekick little sister. This blog started just days into our journey with Sol as a way to keep friends and loved ones updated while he was in the NICU after surviving multiple strokes at birth. You can read Solly’s story here.
The daily life of a special needs family can often feel like sailing uncharted waters. Days can be lonely, weeks are jam-packed with endless appointments, and you find yourself inundated with medical information and (often conflicting) advice. As the years have gone by, I’ve met more and more Moms who are on a similar journey and find themselves in the same situations as me, so I decided to continue sharing our journey on this blog as a way to document our therapies, emotions, and daily life.
If you’re a Mom (or Dad!) and you’d like to connect, please feel free to contact me. I love meeting and speaking with parents who “get” what it’s like to walk a mile in our shoes.
Thanks for following our journey.
